When Chloe and Tim asked me to photograph their destination wedding in Mexico, I was elated at the opportunity. Tulum had been on my personal travel list for years and these two felt like instant friends from the get-go. I spent the week leading up to this lounging in the Caribbean, swimming in cenotes, riding bikes around town, and gawking at the city's sense of design. I was a mid-season vacation and a welcome escape from reality. After Tulum, I moved into a small guesthouse in Akumal, an immaculately kept resort village filled with private residences to prep for the day.
As that day arrived, I couldn't help but notice how effortlessly cool it all felt, from Tim's patterned flamingo suit to the bright floral arrangements to their music selection. More notable yet, even with photographing in the scorching sun and navigating their wedding, Chloe and Tim never missed an opportunity to be near each other.
I was struck and overwhelmed at all of the emotions of the day, and with the sincerity of their connection. Their guest list was small, with just the right kind of intimacy, and you could feel the strength of their family bond.
These two are just amazing, inside and out, and even more so together. I'm so full of gratitude that they chose me to join on this wondrous escape.
